292 - Electrical

It is action station at 292. The electricians and plumbers were onsite today getting all the essentials done before the new insulation goes in tomorrow. These apartments are going to be so snug this winter with new insulation under the floor, in the walls and ceilings. I've lived there when there wasn't any!

Euan the builder has returned to the building site this week with a beaming smile. His son, Deegan was born last week so he happily showed the baby photos today. Proud Dad.

After some hold-up, the new sliding doors and windows for the Living area arrived yesterday and are propped in place. Hopefully the glazier will be through soon once Euan has properly installed them.

Also, my joiners will be coming through on Friday to measure up for the kitchens and bathrooms joinery. Exciting!

In keeping with the theme, this morning I sent a list of wedding blogs (there's heaps!) to my brother's fiancee, Amy. 292 - Interior

New interior framing - the hallway with the new bedroom at the end.

We have a busy week at 292 this week. The plumber and electrician are coming to do their magic before the insulation is installed next week.
You can see that builder Euan has been busy inside - new framing (pink timber) for the new rooms as well as straightening the existing. Some internal doors are up and we have a good sense of the space now.
We did some more prepping the weekend gone - I was on priming the weatherboards and putty hundreds of nail holes. Dad worked on the windows -  which at times is getting the best of him. Old timber windows that have been neglected is hard work!

292 - Dark Grey

I took another morning out of the office today to paint the first coat of the darker grey on the lower level. It looks much better than the light grey that I had done last weekend. So to complete the exterior scheme, the light grey will now be on the weatherboards on the top level and all the windows are in an off white. Sorted.

New Work - Store Front Gate

Minerva is a retail store that I worked on a couple of years ago. We are updating the store this month with a new counter, extra shelving and a store front gate.

I went to the steel factory this morning to check on progress of the gate (hopefully you can distinguish it from the background) and it's looking good. It is a simple design and I used the 'M' as the focus for the central panel. We also added some leaves and flowers trailing out out from the M to relate to the Minerva logo. Just need to choose the powdercoat colour (a dark charocal grey) and hopefully it will be installed in the next week or so.

292 - Tidying up and Going Inside.

Dad and I took some time out from our offices this morning to do some tidying up at 292. Euan the builder is now inside and there were old doors, batts, timber and other rubbish to move out of the way. We took two trailer loads to the tip and the place is looking much tidier...for now.
Euan has been adjusting and fixing up the interior framing in the upstairs apartment. The few changes already makes such a difference to the overall space. I will take some photos later this week and show you.
There are also signs of the interior finishings trickling in with the interior doors and exterior doors all stacked up and waiting for installation.
