I visited my friend, Vanessa's, house this weekend. Her house is a fantastic late sixties house that is work in progress. Vanessa has great ideas and willing to make some bold interior design moves - so she asked me over to help her create the 'big' overall plan and tie her ideas together. I told her that her place has a real 'Jonathan Adler' feel - which she was delighted about.

Jonathan Adler was previously and still is famous for his luxury and modern pottery. Now he has expanded his empire and his whimsical style to interiors - including a humorous and clever book called 'My Prescription for Anti-Depressive Living'. Check out his website here to see all his great products.

I was checking out the Home Base Collections website and I saw that they have a fantastic holiday home, 'Seabreeze' available for rent at Haumoana Beach - about a 15-20 mins drive from Havelock North. Styled by Leanne Culy, the Home Base Collections textiles are used throughout and follow the brand's philosophy -making it a lovely beach house to stay at.
Hmmmm, it's nice to think about the promise of summer that is on its way...

Check out this fresh looking range from Kiwi company, Home Base Collections. I was introduced to this textile range some years ago and I have a recent job that I know that the fabric would be ideal for. My client has a great Crown Lynn ceramic collection and appreciates all things stylish and kiwi. The Swans fabric is perfect for the job, as well as the gorgeous Nature Nuture and Rata.

Printed on hemp fabric, the textile range was designed by artist, stylist and designer Leanne Culy and if you check out the website, you will see all the photography is by her husband, Brian Culy.

There are other sideline businesses online - their homeware range (which includes lampshades and bases), greeting cards and art. A very talented pair...
