Double Stand up Special

Continuing from my triple special, this is a little word on the recent releases of Dylan Moran and Andy Parsons stand up DVD’s

Dylan Moran: Yeah, Yeah
Now I first saw Dylan Moran in Black Books and have loved him ever since, he has an incredible ability to perform sharp witty observational comedy whilst sounding constantly enraged at the world, downing glasses of wine whilst he imaginatively mocks all and sundry. Getting older with older children has only given him more material and those years have not blunted him at all, He likes to come across as a grizzled drunk whose annoyed with everything and sais what he wants about them. It’s only because he’s so funny and that you know it’s all just a joke that he gets away with it. Fantastic stuff as always!

Andy Parsons: Gruntled

Out of all the comedians on Mock the Week one is consistently frustrating, Andy Parsons little walk to the mike that gets giggles from the crowd really sums that up. His stand up however is a refreshing change, still just that guy from Mock the Week who doesn’t get as many laughs as his compatriots he’s a joy to watch here. The fact that his comedy is quintessentially British does make him hugely appealing talking about recent economic problems and the effect of that feels sincere. I also enjoyed him talking about the filming of Mock the Week, nice to hear from behind the scenes from one of the regulars. Andy Parsons Gruntled for me is the surprise stand out stand up of the festive season, gruntled indeed!
