The 'Moon' light during the day.

I hope you can tell from these not-so-great photos the fantastic light that my client found in London. When I first saw it, I had wondered about the 'speckled' finish on the globe - it wasn't until the light was turned on that I instantly recognised the Moon. So Earth on the walls (see previous post) and Moon hanging above the bunk beds - pretty cool boy's bedroom.

New Work - Kids Bedroom

My client and I had seen some great inspiration images of large maps on walls and have done this for her son's bedroom. It took a while to find the right map - with the right colours and size. The rest of the walls have been painted a soft green similar to a green on the map. It looks really effective and you can spent hours staring at it - where you've been and where you want to go...

If you have seen 'The September Issue', you may recognise these interiors - the office belongs to Anna Wintour, Vogue Editor and the lobby to the Vogue Magazine offices. I saw the film last night and enjoyed it.

Anna Wintour has been regarded as a 'Ice Queen' and is a very powerful woman in the fashion industry. The photograph above her sofa seems rather appropriate for this reputation...maybe she has a sense of humour after all.

Birthday present

It was my birthday yesterday and I got these gorgeous European pillow covers made by my sister, Amelia. Apparently, my taste is rather particular and when it came to choosing the fabric, the decision was taken very seriously by Amelia and my mother!! I also got luscious feather inners to go with them. Inspiration - Modern Wicker

I have been exploring wicker furniture for a client of mine and we have been looking at Lloyd Loom. This furniture is traditionally made of woven twisted paper and wire on a solid beech wood frame. While we are looking at more traditional styles for a farm house - there are some cool modern silhouettes coming through thanks to Vincent Sheppard. The latest Inside Out magazine has the 'Butterfly' chairs in chocolate brown on the cover. See the cool 'Joe' chair at the dining table as well as outdoors in great colours. Always great to see an age old technique revitalised.
